This news is big news
Sorry about the long email subject.
If it got your attention, I’m happy you’re here. Welcome back, pal. Missed you.
If you’re annoyed by the long subject but decided to click because it baited you in, haha, I got you and now I’m making you read more nonsense before getting to the good stuff. Heh heh. You’re still reading. This is a pretty good bit…oh no, you’re leaving. Wait! Don’t go!
Phew, you’re still here. Thanks. I knew you were cool.
Anyway, I wanted to let you know that I thought this was a funny email subject:
It’s very long! Hahaha. Good stuff. Been waiting for weeks to share that.
OK, now for the real thing. Here’s what I wanted to tell you:
My wife Anna Paone was on Jeopardy. You know the show. It’s the one with the questions and the answers and the blue screen and the anecdotes and the buzzers and the instantly recognizable “doo doo doo doo” song that is always lurking in our collective unconscious. You know it I bet.
Anna’s episode aired on July 9 and led to a flurry of internet articles claiming she was robbed. I agree with all of them! Anna is practically a folk hero now, which is quite cool.
So, I decided it was my solemn duty to ride her coattails interview her about the Jeopardy experience from how she became interested in the show to how much our airfare cost. You can find our enlightening 54-minute chat here:
Also, I wanted to plug my movies! I gotta say I like plugging movies more than making movies now that I think about it. None of the work, all of the glory.
The first is Dungeons. It’s a 13-minute short.
Here’s the synopsis:
Ashley (Mecca McDonald) would rather do than play "Dungeons and Dragons" on a Friday night. It's not her younger brother Ryan's (Manny Simmons) thing though. Rather than play, the two work out unresolved sibling issues they've never talked about before.
Thanks for watching!
Up next, is my short We Regret To Inform You, which is currently making the festival rounds (God, I love saying that).
It stars Anna Paone, C.W. Headley and Michael Margetis.
The logline for this one is:
When a filmmaker receives a rejection note from a film festival, he heads to the organization's screening room to take matters into his own hands.
Here’s a short 30-second trailer.
OK, gotta go. It’s bedtime (10:15, which is a pretty reasonable hour).
Bless up and level up,
Ol’ Dirty Millennial
Wow, I had no idea she was on Jeopardy! That rules!
